As a playing card collector I would like to acknowledge the following people. Sylvia Mann: John Berry: Ken Lodge: Robert Welsh: Michael Goodall. Between them they taught me everything I didn't know. A more recent person that deserves recognition: although he has personally been involved with playing cards as long if not longer than I have and knows, or knew, all the people mentioned above: is Simon Wintle. His brilliant website has become one of, if not the most, comprehensive site for playing cards there is. If you want information about playing cards go to WOPC.
Hello and welcome. I have been collecting playing cards since 1979 and in the early years was fortunate enough to live close to Sylvia Mann and Adrienne Gurr, no better people to learn from I am sure you will agree. In 1990 due to business problems I had to sell my then collection at Sothebys. It was a much larger and more diverse collection than I show here and it was nice to see the Fournier Museum ending up with many of them. This is my second coming if you like, not a patch on that first collection but I hope you find it interesting.
