These cards were made in 1937 by the "Arpak Playing Card Co" of Liverpool. Distinguished from other packs by the black backgrounds and different coloured suit symbols. This set has been used and shows a few signs of wear, as does the case. But it is complete with an extra 4 of spades with the corner trimmed, this card would have been outside the pack when it was originally wrapped to show the back design, of which there were two colours issued, red and blue. .
