This reproduction deck was produced and published by John Berry in 2003 in association with the International Playing Card society. Originally made to celebrate the marriage of Victoria's second son, Alfred the Duke of Edinburgh, to Grand Duchess Marie Alexandrovina, daughter of Alexander 11 of Russia. The four aces depict Victoria, General Grant, Tsar Alexander the 11 and Kaiser William 1. The court cards show the various royals across the European households: The King of the Belgians. The Empress of Austria, the Crown Princess of Germany, the jacks are images meant to represent the various nations the J of Diamonds being Spanish.
