Art Deco deck by Marden Son & Hall.
Marden Son & Hall are usually associated with bezique sets of 2 X 32 cards made for Imperial Tobacco of Bristol in the 1930's, with various scenes of rural villages or horses to the backs. Although the court cards are Marden, full sets of cards by them were often actually made by Waddingtons, who were experts at these intricate art deco back designs. Not sure if this is one such set, not that it matters much to anyone other than a complete anorak! But they are in fantastic condition, 52 + 2 with glinting gilt edges and original box, which is also in wonderful condition.
